The Lodge
The Lodge was originally constructed in the late 1800s and served as the office of the Roadmaster of the railroad in the Folkston area. The Roadmaster's office was located where the Folkston Post Office is now, on Main Street along the railroad tracks. The office became obsolete in the mid 1900s. The building has been restored for the pleasure and enjoyment of train watchers visiting Folkston. Our desire is to provide comfortable accommodations while allowing our customers to appreciate some of the railroad history of our area.
The lodge was moved to First Street in Folkston, which also fronts the railroad right-of-way - right along the tracks. We feel like the location is great because it's within walking distance of all of downtown Folkston and the Funnel, just in case your heart desires fellowship with other train watchers. Make sure to stop by Dixie's for lunch or a nice cool ice cream. Whistlin Dixie also offers custom railroad art, custom framing, and fine local gifts.
Our rates are $100 per night for weeknight rentals and $125 per night on weekends and holidays. We will discount the rate to $600 for weekly rentals.
Your accommodations include a full bath with towels and wash cloths; a full kitchen with microwave, range, refrigerator and coffee maker; a dining area; linens; TV with Dish Network; Central AC and Heat; Covered porch facing the tracks.
The Lodge can accommodate four to six persons.
Daily or weekly rentals are available.
